The West African Institute for Applied Health Research – WAFERs is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to research and training in applied health research and related fields. Guided by an international board of advisors and trustees, it focuses on addressing public health challenges in low- and middle-income countries through innovative health research.

Training and consultation services
We are dedicated to building the capacity of healthcare professionals across Africa. This will be done in collaboration with the organization’s team to support program improvement work. To every service we offer; novel ideas, implementation strategies for sustainability, technical expertise, and innovative solutions.
Health Communication
Health communication is key in raising awareness, promoting good health seeking behaviors, and debunking misconceptions on health-related issues. At WAFERs, health communication tool provides accurate and engaging information to empower individuals and communities to make informed decisions about their health.
Advocacy
WAFERs works to influence stakeholders across all levels in Africa, especially Nigeria to commit resources and enact policies that stimulate the development of structured guidelines and recommendations on Osteoarthritis and other morbidities. These guidelines should ensure that healthcare facilities are affordable and accessible.
